PostSubject: Dodge 4x4 Staff Car   Mon Jun 03 2013, 05:56

This 35 scale Dodge 4x4 Staff Car is another of the now OOP Skybow kits, the model was óne of the vehicles used by General Patton only I wanted to build the RAAF vehicle which was used by all RAAF Squadrons based in the Pacific Islands as a transport vehicle to get crews to their respective aircraft. The modifications and alterations I have added to this subject are, the chain added to the winch cable, hood bows made from brass wire and canvas tarps made from tissue coated in PVA Glue, the model subject is not completed at present and is painted in the Humbrol Olive Drab, the radio and map desk have been removed from the rear passenger seat. Some experiments have been conducted as to the weathering technique that will complete the model.

Basic build up of kit.

Side view, showing the second Jerry Can mount.

Side view showing the Tool Box

Full chassis and engine detail.

NOTE:- This model subject is now part of the AFV Club of Military kits.
It DOES NOT come complete with an extended canvas roof.

The windscreen cover is made from a piece of lead foil, from a wine bottle.
Trimmed to fit and painted in Tamiya XF 51 Khaki Drab.

When you go home tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow we gave our today.

Those that never learn from history will always repeat it.
