| This Tamiya 48 scale kit was built several years ago when the kit first appeared, it was painted in the old now OOP AeroMaster Warbird range of enamels and was airbrushed using a Passche VL with a number 1 needle, as my second attempt of an Axis Mottle scheme and was used for a number of years as a visual aide in my practical airbrushing lessons. Under surfaces is RLM 78 Blue/Grey, upper surface is RLM 79 Sand, with RLM 80 Dark Green as the mottle, which was applied free hand {no masking what so ever}, cockpit, wheel wells and wing surface under the leading edge flaps is RLM 02 Grey, the RLM 23 is the Red on the prop, all markings are kit decals. Exhaust stains are Model Master Exhaust, muzzle flash stains is Model Master Burnt Metal, both of which had been applied free hand, the war torn weathering is 2 coats of dirty thinner, airbrushed over the model. NOTE: The club was given a 72 scale Airfix kit of this exact subject, that Pete is going to build. I may in the future build another of this Axis Subject.
