| This 48 scale Hasegawa kit is also boxed under Revell, which has a different decal option for the European Theatre, but every model subject of any European Operational aircraft, does not cover any subject flown on D-Day. Here I have replicated a Hurricane IIc complete with the AEAF Bands, the Sky Fighter band on the rear fuselage was painted and masked when dry, Insignia White was applied and masked off when dry, Mat Black was then applied and masked off, ready for the Aircraft Grey under surface coat. Insignia White applied to model, only the fuselage area has the masking tape as a means of measuring the band widths.Yellow ID band applied to outer wing leading edge and masked off.Flat Black applied to form the AEAF Bands, on the under surface of the aircraft.Upper surface of model subject, in the Ocean Grey / Dark Green and masking tape removed to expose fuselage Fighter Band.Sky spinner is painted in the same colour as the rear fuselage Fighter Band.Decals applied to model are from an old AeroMaster sheet {Yanks in the RAF} which are the Squadron and Aircraft Codes.Roundels are from an old AeroMaster sheet of RAF late type.Model subject waiting for the weathering and dull coat applications. As well as the canopy installation. | |
