A 72 scale Ju 87g Stuka Empty
PostSubject: A 72 scale Ju 87g Stuka   A 72 scale Ju 87g Stuka EmptyWed Apr 02 2014, 03:45

Progress on the Hobby Boss Ju 87 this kit is from the beginner series of kits that Hobby Boss produce, which has a one piece wing, one piece fuselage and some small parts to complete the subject. The model is finished in the Gunze range of RLM Acrylic paints, the had part in this scale is masking the fuselage for the RLM 70 / 71 Splinter scheme, as the main wing and tail are simple enough to mask. I also left the rear tailplane supports off while painting the camouflage scheme.

Note:- The RLM 65 was first applied to the under surfaces and masked when dry. Followed by the RLM 70 being applied in the basic position shown on the colour info sheet of the kit. The subject was then masked off over the RLM 70 to form the splinter scheme, the RLM 71 was applied.
When dry remove masking tape to reveal the splinter effect.
The masking process is time consuming but worth the effort in the end.
