This 48 scale offering is the older Monogram tooling, which now appears in a Revell box, this is the second of the Catalina kits that Monogram originally produced, but under Revell is the only Catalina kit currently available, this is the first build of three Catalina kits I have, the second build is also the amphibian variant but is in overall Green. The build so far has been a nightmare as the fuselage and wing section parts were warped and some of the interior floor section was actually broken. Starting with the cockpit assembly the exposed area was painted in flat black then the bulkheads were painted in the Interior Green and again the rear gunners compartment was also painted in flat black. The exterior is painted in Model Master Gloss Black on the under surfaces, Tamiya Semi Gloss Black on the fuselage sides, with Model Master Flat Black and Tamiya Semi Gloss Black on all upper surfaces. the roundels are a mask, from the Maketar range. The RAAF 43 Sqn codes and the aircraft code and A24 serial numbers have been added as yet.
