Honda CBR Super Blackbird

This Tamiya Honda CBR 1100 has 3 colour options for the flaring one of these options is a strange {almost} Gun Metal colour, the other options are either a red or blue and Tamiya sugest that all exterior colours be mixed using there paint range. This particular subject has a mix of both Acylic and Enamel paints applied, the rear swing arm and the exhaust are all Alclad II, the swing arm is Alclad II aluminium, while the exhaust extensions are Alclad II chrome, the wing mirrors are kit supplied chrome plated parts, the first Tamiya kit which this subject is made from, was bought from Metro Hobbies several months ago, the sealed kit shown below is what I managed to find in a Toyworld store.


The box art of the kit and I now have two of these so the second machine will be a different colour.


Progress on the basic engine, rear swing arm and frame.


Left side view: The flaring, tank and rear seat housing are mixed from the colours Tamiya recommend for this particular paint colour.
The 4 x exhaust headers are painted in the Metalaic Grey, the pipe is Titanium Gold and the muffler section is Alclad II Chrome.
